Trip Description: Designed by Cabell B. Robinson, La Cala Golf features three championship courses—America, Asia, and Europa—each offering unique challenges. Since opening in 1989, it has earned a reputation for stunning scenery, dramatic elevation changes, and world-class golf facilities. The America Course, with its wide fairways, is a favorite among U.S. golfers, while Asia demands precision, and Europa offers a balanced test. Elevation changes make club selection and course management crucial, and most golfers opt for carts due to the hilly terrain. La Cala has hosted elite amateur and professional events and served as a training ground for European Tour players. Its state-of-the-art practice facilities and renowned golf academy make it ideal for improving your game.
Golf Course Description: Finca Cortesin is globally renowned for providing one of Europe’s most unforgettable golf experiences. Rated amongst Spain’s best golf courses, including by the prestigious Golf Digest magazine, the harmonious relationship between the natural Mediterranean landscape and the environment on the resort’s world-class 18-hole championship course makes for a most attractive design, while the excellent weather they enjoy all year round provides the perfect setting for playing golf.
Trip Description: La Hacienda Links is renowned for its breath-taking coastal views and challenging layout. Set along the stunning Mediterranean coastline, it offers a unique golfing experience with meticulously maintained greens and fairways. The course, designed by esteemed architects, blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, providing golfers of all levels an unforgettable experience. Its luxurious clubhouse and amenities make it a perfect destination for relaxation and sport.
Golf Course Description: The San Roque Club sits on an enviable backdrop surrounded by lush hills and historic cork oak woods. The club is set within 340 acres of peaceful and natural Andalusian landscape where the ancient cork oaks dominate the scenery. San Roque first opened its doors in 1991 and quickly became the golf resort of choice in Sotogrande. Designed by Dave Thomas, the Old Course, along with Valderrama and Real Club de Sotogrande, became known as the golden triangle of golf.
Golf Course Description: Valderrama is considered one of the best-maintained courses in the world and has been regularly included among the top 100 courses in the world since 1989. Valderrama is located in Sotogrande, southern Spain. The championship golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1974, one of the most important golf architects in history. Many people will know the course from TV coverage since it has hosted a plethora of professional tournaments and is widely recognised as the “Augusta of Europe”.
Golf Course Description: Sotogrande is the home of legendary golf courses, and La Reserva Club continues this historic legacy while creating a contemporary experience that defines the area today. Carved into the hillside with natural vistas in every direction, the 18-hole championship course was designed in 2003 by American architect and course designer Cabell B. Robinson. With wide, sweeping fairways that lead on to large greens, gentle but challenging undulations and various water features, La Reserva is a must-play for any golfer visiting southern Spain.
Trip Description: The course Real Club de Golf Sotogrande is considered one of the masterpieces of Robert Trent Jones, who chose this course as one of his five favourites from more than 500 courses he designed worldwide, according to what he wrote in his book Golf – The Magnificent Challenge published in 1988. Officially opened in 1964, Sotogrande was the first course Trent Jones designed in Europe and is blessed with his design philosophy, which consists of building courses perfectly integrated with the natural surroundings, which are a great challenge to the better players but accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
